The Best JoJo Part? Every Season of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Rated

2 Min Read

Ask any JoJo fan which part is the best & you’re in for a long argument. New hero, new setting, new art style every few dozen episodes. So I charted every episode to settle it, and found something I didn’t expect: whatever the season, JoJo saves its best for last.

Five seasons, 190 episodes

I’ve charted the first five seasons here, 190 episodes from 2012 to 2022, all animated by David Production. The average episode scores a solid 8.3. Steel Ball Run is still airing, so I’ve left it out for now, but I’ll be keeping an eye on it.

Which is the best JoJo part?

Here are the season averages:

  • Season 1: 8.0
  • Season 2: 8.0
  • Season 3: 8.2
  • Season 4: 8.7
  • Season 5, Golden Wind: 8.5

On my chart, Season 4 edges it on average, but Golden Wind is the one fans shout about most. Either way, one thing’s clear: the later parts beat the early ones.

The JoJo finish

This is what jumped out at me. In every single season, the last five episodes average higher than the rest of the season. Season 2 is the biggest example, with its finale stretch sitting 1.5 points above the season average. And the top two episodes in the whole series? Both 9.8.

The lowest point

The lowest-rated episode is Season 3, Episode 26, “Janken Boy Is Coming!”, at 6.3. A rock-paper-scissors duel halfway through a long season? Yeah, I can see why that one split people.
